About Rara Lake Tour - 8 days
Rara Lake tour is a pleasant opportunity to explore the biggest and the deepest lake in Nepal. Rara Lake nestles at the elevation of almost 3000m and lies inside the smallest and the most colorful National Park of Nepal, Rara National Park, located northwest of Kathmandu in the mountainous district of Mugu.
The lake is surrounded by the lush vegetation in all directions, the wonderful woods of pine, spruce, and juniper along with hundreds of species of wildflowers and herbal plants prosper at its shores. This serene wilderness is an ideal habitat for musk deer, Himalayan black bear, leopard, goral, Himalayan Thar and wild boar.
The short trek to Rara is a wonderful journey starting with a scenic flight to Nepalgunj city and then another sweeping flight to Talcha where our walk begins to Rara Lake. The trail leads through interesting culturally rich Thakuri, Malla and Tibetan influenced tribes with rich ancient traditions and customs along with picturesque views of snow-capped mountains.
