About Chitlang Village Tour

Chitlang village tour is a popular weekend tour to an ancient Newar settlement located about 22km southwest of Kathmandu valley. The village history dated back Gopal and Lichchavi era. You can do this trip as a day tour or an overnight tour staying in a resort near Chitlang village.

Chitlang village has a peaceful and wonderful landscape and offers a pleasant nature walking experience that exceeds your imagination. On the way to Chitlang, we come across beautiful villages including Chovar, Pharping, Kulekhani Dam and Markhu Village. Markhu is a beautiful nearby village where one can stop for boating and fishing and enjoy local fish dishes.

Chitlang also offers homestay, where tourist or visitors can stay with locals at their house and enjoy their hospitality. There are many homestays in Chitlang which offer great accommodation and help tourist learn about the local lifestyle and culture.

Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Chitlang via Pharping and Dakshinkali (3-4hrs)

On this day, we aim to reach Chitlang. On the way, we first stop Taudaha, Chovar. Taudaha is a beautiful lake with amazing fishes and a peaceful place for bird watching. Enroute we pass through the Pharping, Vajrayogini temple and a cave where Padmasambhava meditated. We continue our journey toward Chitlang our final destination.

Day 02: Explore Chitlang and Kulekhani; Back to Kathmandu

The next morning after breakfast, we will stroll around the Chitlang village and head to Kulekhani for a day excursion. We can enjoy boating and enjoy the local fish from a fish farm in Marpah, Kulekhani. After spending some adventurous time in Kulekhani, we head back to Kathmandu in the evening

Included

Airport pick-up and drop services in a private vehicle
All ground transportation costs on a comfortable private vehicle as per the itinerary (tourist bus or private vehicles)
3-Star Hotel accommodation on “BB” basis as per itinerary (hotel category can be change on guest request)
All tour accommodation costs on full board basis which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The accommodation during tour will be in the guesthouses, lodges or homestay on twin sharing basis.
