About 3 Days Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour

Chitwan Jungle Safari tour is one of the popular nature and wildlife tours for nature lovers who dream to be in the wilderness to watch wildlife and birds closely in their inhabitant, green forest and natural beauty of Nepal. This tour takes you around the Chitwan National Park, one of the popular parks of Nepal listed as UNESCO Natural Heritage sites in 1979, situated 172 km south of Kathmandu in the low lands of inner Terai.

Chitwan Jungle Safari involves many activities like jungle safari on elephant or jeep, jungle walk, and canoe ride accompanied by a fully trained guide. These rides will take you to dense elephant grassland and forest of Chitwan National Park and give you an opportunity to get close to the wildlife in its natural habitat. The main attraction of this safari is the one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tigers. Most of the tourists come to Chitwan to watch popular Nepal's greater one-horned rhinos. Besides, you can encounter elephants, crocodiles, pythons and deer, brilliantly coloured birds, rhesus monkey, grey langur and many more. The canoe trip is a very relaxing way to watch migrating birds and wildlife species floating down the Rapti in dugout canoe that frequently come to bathe and drink water in the river.

Another important factor adding to Chitwan Jungle Safari is the tour to the nearby traditional village of Tharu people, one of the indigenous people living in southern Terai of Nepal. You will also be entertained by the traditional and heart touching Tharu dance and colourful Tharu culture during your tour. The visit to elephant breeding centre is another thing to do in Chitwan Jungle Safari tour. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Sauraha Bus Stand or Bharatpur Airport

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to a designated hotel where you will be offered refreshment & be given a briefing about the lodge & its facilities and tour itinerary. After the briefing, you will be allocated to the room.

After some rest, we will go for a village tour to a nearby ethnic village where you can learn about the culture and lifestyle of the indigenous Tharus. After that, we will visit the National Park Visitor’s centre where you can learn more about the history of the National Park and about wildlife & later enjoy Sunset view from the bank of Rapti River.

Later you will have dinner in the hotel with Tharu cultural dance presentation by the local villagers or Slide show presentation on almost everything under the Chitwan.

Day 02: Canoe ride and Jungle Safari

After early morning breakfast, we go for a canoe ride along the Rapti River. Canoeing is an excellent opportunity for Bird watching and for spotting the 2 rare species of crocodiles; the Marsh Mugger and the fish-eating Gharial. We also go for a short Jungle walk. On the way back we can enjoy the elephant bathing and take pictures.

After lunch, we go for Elephant Safari or Jeep Safari. These jungle rides are an excellent opportunity to witness wildlife and birds of Chitwan National Park including peacock, koyal, deer, rhinoceros, wild bore, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal Tiger (If you are lucky).

Day 03: Visit Elephant Breeding Centre and final departure

After Breakfast, we visit the Elephant Breeding Center where you will get a chance to learn about the elephant and enjoy watching a mother elephant frolic with her energetic baby.  

After this visit, depending upon your flight schedule our guide will drop you to the airport for final departure.
